Dr James Chin

James Chin is a non-resident principal research fellow at the Institute for Indo-Pacific Affairs. He is a Professor of Asian Studies at the University of Tasmania. His research centres on ASEAN and the domestic politics of its member countries, with a particular emphasis on Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei. Additionally, he explores political dynamics in Papua New Guinea and the strategic rivalries among major powers in the South Pacific.
