Articles

As the digital publication platform of the IIPA, Kwentuhan (ISSN 2816-1971) maintains an independent and non-partisan editorial stance, with the aim of deepening understanding of the Indo-Pacific. We are committed to academic and analytic integrity and ask that our contributing authors submit original pieces of work that will spark conversations about the issues impacting the region.

Submissions should range from 1000  to 1200 words. Please use hyperlinks for acknowledging sources rather than footnotes or endnotes. Submissions should be in a Word document and not a PDF. Contributors should include a brief biographical note with relevant academic and professional qualifications in their submissions. Please note that all essays submitted will be subject to editorial reviews and evaluations, and that headlines, illustrations and other page elements are at the prerogative of the editorial team.

We are also open to pitches for a special issue (four to five essays) on a single theme. Pitches should give a summary of the proposed content of the essays and should be about 1000 words in length.

If you would like to contribute, please email short abstract and attach your draft essay to kwentuhan@indopac.nz

Because of the volume of submissions we have to process, we will contact you only if we feel able to accept your piece. If you do not hear from us within three business days, please feel free to submit your article to other publications.

Kwentuhan features commentary and analysis on events and issues that impact the Indo-Pacific. In keeping with the Institute's aims of putting the Indo-Pacific at the centre of discussion, we welcome scholars and analysts to submit pitches and articles. We are especially keen to feature works from those who hail from the Indo-Pacific, in a bid to amplify the voices from the region.
