Iain Rommel

ain Rommel is a Research Associate at the Institute for Indo-Pacific Affairs. He is a PhD student at the University of Auckland in Auckland, New Zealand. He specializes in democratic backsliding and contemporary erosions in democratic polities, focusing on ethnic heterogeneity and social cohesion. He graduated as honorary valedictorian from Capilano University in North Vancouver, Canada and holds a Master of International Relations and Diplomacy from the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand.
